<br />REPORT <br /> <br />6.1E <br />P ge 1 <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the Ci Mana er <br /> <br />September 14, 2009 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Moffat & Nichol for <br />engineering and design services related to the maintenance dredging of the Redwood Shores <br />Lagoon <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve, by motion, Amendment NO.2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Moffat & <br />Nichol for design and engineering services for the Redwood Shores Lagoon System <br />Dredging project in the amount of $21,545.00 and authorize the City Manager to increase the <br />amendment amount up to 100/0 if necessary. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Redwood Shores Lagoon System Dredging project is designed to improve the water <br />quality and the serviceability of the storm drainage system. <br /> <br />On November 14, 2005, Council approved the original agreement with Moffat & Nichol for <br />professional services for Phase 1 of the Redwood Shores Lagoon System Dredging project in <br />the amount of $106,764.00. The initial phase of this project included collecting and sampling <br />dredge material and identifying the specific areas of the lagoon system that required dredging <br />to remove sediment deposits. On November 24,2008, Council approved Amendment No.1 <br />to the agreement in the amount of $49,301.00 to perform services required by the recent <br />addition of new sluice gates. Those services included site investigation, preparation of <br />design plans and specifications, and construction support. <br /> <br />Staff requests Council approval of Amendment No. 2 in the amount $21,545.00.
