I left my job at Safeway on January 2020 to be a full time mom.
Shortly after we were hit with the pandemic. I decided to come back to work in March to help run the Dot Com
department. I was good at running it and I liked working here so I decided to come back and help out. As you can
imagine, our department was understaffed and in such high demand. Some of us were working 15 hour shifts just to
try to get all the orders out. I ended up getting pregnant and kept working during the pandemic mostly because of
necessity. I worked up until I could which was until 8 months pregnant in December. 1 week after I stopped working
I lost my son. Now I am back as of last month and I see how tired all my coworkers are. We work hard and get
exposed to so much. Most are here because they have to.
We deserve hazard pay. We deserve hazard pay because we work hard. We get exposed to covid everyday. We put
our selves and our families at risk. WE DESERVE HAZARD PAY.
Thank you,
Rocio R
Sent from my iPhone
422
