REV: 06-07-21 MI EXHIBIT A – SERVICES In consideration of the payments set forth in Exhibit B, Contractor shall provide the following services: DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY CONTRACTOR Contractor will conduct pre-employment background investigations on potential employees (candidates) for the Redwood City Police Department. Services include, but are not limited to: 1.) Background Investigation Detailed Personal History Statement (PHS) In-depth candidate interview Reference interviews Current & past employer checks Candidate debrief 2.) Records Checks Criminal Convictions Driving Record Outstanding Warrants Credit Check Sex Offender Registration Education Verification Social Security Verification Livescan/Fingerprint Selective Service Registration Verification Address Verification 3.) Other responsibilities of the Contractor Make contact with the candidate and conduct a thorough background investigation Identify areas of concern for the polygraph examiner Immediately notify the Redwood City Police Department if a disqualifying event under POST standards is discovered in a candidate’s background Complete background investigation within 45 days of the date the Personal History Statement is provided to the Contractor If an extension is required the Contractor will contact the Redwood City Police Department to request the extension with an estimated completion date; extensions will not be granted past 60 days Submit the completed background investigation report (narrative summary and executive summary) to the Department for review and verification of POST compliance. If any deficiencies are noted, the report will be returned to Contractor for correction prior to submission for final approval via the Redwood City Police Department chain of command ATTY/AGR.2021.132/Blanc Investigations (background Investigator) (Page 7 of 8)
