RESOLUTION NO. 078244(a-b) <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />* * * * * * <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF SAN MATEO COUNTY HEALTH OR <br />DESIGNEE TO: A) EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TWENTY CITIES OF <br />THE COUNTY FOR THE FACILITATION AND COORDINATION OF ANIMAL CARE <br />AND CONTROL SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2021 THROUGH JUNE 30, <br />2026; AND B) EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PENINSULA HUMANE <br />SOCIETY AND SPCA TO PROVIDE ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL SERVICES <br />FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2021 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026, IN AN AMOUNT NOT <br />TO EXCEED $32,548,990 <br />______________________________________________________________ <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California, that <br />WHEREAS, the twenty cities in the County of San Mateo (Cities) and the <br />County wish to enter into an agreement pursuant to which the County will facilitate and <br />coordinate animal care and control services on a countywide basis on behalf of the <br />County and Cities, and each city will reimburse the County for its proposition share of <br />the cost of such services for a term of five years from July 1, 2021 through June 30, <br />2026; and <br />WHEREAS, such agreements are authorized and provided for by Section <br />51300, et seq., of the California Government Code and under the police powers <br />possessed by the County and the Cities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to state law including, but not limited to, California Food <br />and Agricultural Code Section 31106, Corporations Code Sections 14501 and 14503, <br />and Government Code Section 31000, the County may contract with independent
