<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />NO.~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING NATIONAL PHYSICALLY <br />HANDICAPPED WEEK <br /> <br />VffiEREAS, the President of the United States has <br />proclaimed October 2nd to 8th as "National Employ the Physi- <br />cally Handicapped Week"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California <br /> <br />has appointed the San Mateo County Committee, composed of rep- <br /> <br />resentatives of the State Department of Vocational Rehabili- <br /> <br />tation, the California Employment Service, the Veterans Ser- <br /> <br />vice Office, and industry, to assist in securing the place- <br /> <br />ment of physically handicapped persons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, experience has demonstrated that when <br /> <br />properly placed, the relative efficiency and stability of <br /> <br />the physically impaired was greater than the unimpaired; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City <br /> <br />Council of the City of Redwood City, requests the full co- <br /> <br />operation of employers in this City, with the San Mateo <br />County Committee in the placement of handicapped persons <br /> <br />wherever it is possible to utilize their services. <br /> <br />" <br />" <br /> <br />" <br />ii" <br /> <br />" <br />" <br /> <br />" <br />" <br />
