<br />6.18 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />capacity must therefore be increased to meet additional anticipated demand. <br /> <br />The recycled water Distribution Pump Station was designed for expansion and <br />can accommodate up to ten pumps. The objective of this analysis is to evaluate <br />the recycled water delivery system and install up to five main pumps to serve the <br />increased demand generated by the Phase 1 area. The scope of this agreement <br />includes the evaluation of current peak demand data, recalibration of system <br />piping computer models to assess system performance, and verification of the <br />number of additional main pumps needed to provide the required capacity to <br />most efficiently serve Phase 1 recycled water demand in the area of east of <br />Highway 101. The consultant will also provide design, project management, <br />bidding and construction support services to install the required pumps. <br /> <br />Staff requests that Council approve Amendment No.1 for $260,000.00 to the <br />preliminary agreement with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants for a contract total of <br />$320,000.00 to complete the major part of this work in time to meet the recycled <br />water demand projected for the 2010 irrigation season. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to approve the proposed amendment with <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants for the Redwood City Recycled Water Project - <br />Phase I - Distribution Pump Station Capacity Increase Project, and direct staff to <br />modify the scope of work and/or select another consultant. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds have been appropriated from the Water Revenue Bond proceeds. The <br />City has issued a series of three Water Revenue Bonds to finance Phase 1 of <br />the Recycled Water Project.
