02/08/2021 RESOLUTION NO. 15934 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY VACATING A PORTION OF MAPLE STREET PUBLIC RIGHT-OF- WAY IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, on May 7, 2018, the City Council of the City of Redwood City ("City Council") approved a 131 -unit townhouse development at 1548 Maple Street (the "Project"), and on May 21, 2018, the City Council adopted an ordinance approving a Development Agreement ("DA") between the City of Redwood City and the developer, Strada Investment Group, as part of the Project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Part 3 (commencing at Section 8300) of Division 9 of the California Streets and Highways Code, the City Council intends to vacate the public right-of-way being a portion of Maple Street as shown on Parcel Map No. 91 — 10 in Book 67 of Parcel Maps, at Pages 26-27, in the office of the Recorder for the County of San Mateo, attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Exhibit 1; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said provisions of the California Streets and Highways Code, notice of intention to vacate the herein described portion of Maple Street as shown on the Parcel Map No. 91 — 10 in Book 67 of Parcel Maps, at Pages 26-27, was published and posted in substantially the form attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Exhibit 2 (Public Hearing Notice), and notice was provided to property owners within 300 feet; and WHEREAS, the City sent various utility companies notice of its intention to vacate in substantially the form attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Exhibit 3 (Notice to Utilities); and WHEREAS, the City held a public hearing on February 8, 2021 to hear evidence offered by interested persons and to determine from all of the evidence submitted whether the described portions of Maple Street right-of-way is unnecessary for present or prospective public use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. 2. The City Council finds that the portions of Maple Street right-of-way as more fully described in Exhibit 1 are unnecessary for present or prospective public purposes.
