This standard is discussed in greater detail in Chapter 5. Citywide, the level of service is 2.78 acres <br />per 1,000 residents, which does not reach the level of service recommended by the Quimby standard. <br />Service level varies widely between recreation planning areas, ranging from 0.00 to 5.01. When considering only <br />city-owned parkland, Redwood Shores and Southeast Redwood City meet the desired Quimby ratio. However, <br />when considering both city- and school-owned parkland, Redwood Shores, North Redwood City, Middle Red- <br />wood City, and Southeast Redwood City all meet the desired Quimby ratio. On the other hand, Downtown, South <br />Redwood City and East 101 each have levels of service under 1.00, indicating a need for additional parkland. The <br />discrepancies in the levels of service between planning areas demonstrates quantitatively that parkland is un- <br />evenly distributed across the City of Redwood City. <br />7.A. - Page 32 of 66 <br />144
