PARKS, RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES NEEDS ASSESSMENT | 23 <br />In May 2018, the project team conducted <br />interviews and small group discussions with <br />staff and community members who represent <br />a variety of interests, including business, youth <br />sports and neighborhood associations, among <br />others. The interviews and group discussions <br />were held at the Department’s administrative <br />offi ce at 1400 Roosevelt Avenue. Three <br />individuals who were unable to meet during the <br />proposed in-person meetings were interviewed <br />by telephone as schedules permitted over <br />the summer of 2018. Each interview subject <br />and small group was asked a similar set of <br />questions regarding their opinion on trends <br />and existing conditions as they relate to parks <br />and recreation in Redwood City. <br />The purpose of the interviews was to collect <br />qualitative information regarding current and <br />future needs for parks and recreation to inform <br />the development of the Redwood City Parks <br />and Facilities Needs Assessment. Participants <br />were encouraged to speak candidly, and they <br />were assured that their responses would be <br />reported in aggregate, with no one being <br />quoted directly. <br />Lucas Wilder of Redwood City, Parks <br />and Events, invited potential focus group <br />The Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment was informed by input from a variety of sources to <br />ensure that its parks and recreation system meets the needs of existing and incoming community <br />members.
