The San <br />Mateo Labor Council recognizes 79,797 union members in nearly 35,000 households in this County and <br />5,800 union members in 2,644 households in Redwood City. <br />If passed, this resolution will indicate the City’s ongoing support for collective bargaining and the benefits <br />it offers to workers. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no direct fiscal impact in adopting a resolution. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to adopt the resolution or may return the resolution to the Equity and <br />Social Justice Subcommittee for further review. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Attachment A – Resolution in support of collective bargaining and worker wellness <br />6.B. - Page 2 of 5 <br />53
