To operate a broad-based engagement oftbe community, that fosters significant <br />participation of key stakeholders, incorporates their feedback, both in support of the <br />project and in opposition, and nleets the public's interest in participation; <br />. To engage the community in the environmental and design process for the identified <br />alternatives of the project, most specifically alternatives for the rail profile and possible <br />station in Redwood City; <br />. To effectively cODlmunicate to the Redwood City conlmunity the goals of the high speed <br />rail project in Califonlia as well as along the Peninsula. <br /> <br />Strate2V: <br />. Build a high level of awareness through the solicitation of conlnlunity feedback through a <br />custolnized public outreach process and approach <br />. Facilitate a high level of engagenlent and involvement frOln stakeholders, providing <br />opportunities for effectively comnlunicating their input regarding the environmental, <br />economic, community development, and other inlpacts of the project. <br /> <br />Kev Messa2es: <br />. Information about steps to be taken to assure continued operation of Caltrain service <br />during construction <br />. Graphic representations of various altenlatives, grades, station siting, etc. <br />. HSR/Caltrai11 are sensitive to local community needs, encourage public involvement, and <br />are Inaking comnlunity engagement a key component of the process <br />. The partnership between CHSRA and Caltrain: <br />o Allows Caltrain 2025 and HSR projects to be closely coordinated <br />o Requires that Caltrain service, and plans for future service be luaintained <br />o Requires community concerns for both efforts to be considered through a <br />conlbined broad public outreach <br />. This conlnlunity outreach process will include a much higher degree of public <br />participation than required under law, and will be flexible to accolnmodate refinements as <br />needed, based on the community's evolving needs <br /> <br />Redwood City Stakeholders: <br />.
