6.1C Page 16 EXHIBIT A CITY OF REDWOOD CITY INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF THE BAY AREA (Immigration and Citizenship Program in San Mateo County) FISCAL YEAR 2009/2010 CONTRACT OBJECTIVES Quantifiable Goals to be Provided With Re uested Funds To increase 850 immigrant families' stability by assisting them to reunite their family, obtain work authorization or become a naturalized U.S. Citizen, based on their eligibility as established by U.S. laws. To expand access for 3,500 families to accurate information regarding immigration law and procedures and thus increase their abilities to make educated decisions regarding their o tions, ri hts and res onsibilities. To increase community awareness regarding the special challenges faced by newcomers. Performance Indicators (how you will measure the uantifiable oal 850 families will receive assistance, as measured by caseworker intake records. Success in obtaining appropriate documentation will be measured by the positive response of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Increased family stability will be measured by client surveys, indicating improved access to housing, education, employment and civic engagement opportunities. Specifically, in the first quarter of FY 09-10, each adult client that obtained work authorization and/or residency during the past 6 months will be surveyed to determine if s/he has obtained a new or improved job or other significant quality of life ain as a result. Measured by the number of people participating in our information sessions and consultations per client sign-in records, as well as client surveys. Conduct at least 15 workshops on issues of importance to the Redwood City community, such as changes in immigration law, civic participation, citizen rights and responsibilities. Participants will include service providers, educators and community leaders who seek to better understand their clients' immigration status, rocedures and circumstances.
