<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />C '7"( <br />C) " <br /> <br />N o. 877 <br /> <br />OPPOSING PROPOSED INITIATIVE MEASURE <br />EXEMPTING PERSONAL ERO~ERTY FROM TAXATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an initiative petition is being circulated <br /> <br />to place before the voters of the State of California in <br />November a constitutional amendment to exempt personal <br /> <br />property from the assessment rolls; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Council of Redwood City desires to go <br /> <br />on record as opposing this proposed initiative petition; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />REDWOOD CITY as follows: <br /> <br />1. ~hat the citizens of Redwood City are hereby <br /> <br />urged to refuse to sign petitions asking to place this <br /> <br />special privilege tax exemption measure on the ballot. <br /> <br />2. That all voters of Redwood City are urged to <br /> <br />reject the proposal to exempt personal property from <br /> <br />taxation inasmuch as the passage of said measure would <br /> <br />threaten the solvency of the City of Redwood City. <br />3.
