REV: 06-05-2023 RL
The Drop Box location shall not be changed without written authorization from a Supervisor from the
Division, the Assistant Chief Elections Officer or the Chief Elections Officer (“Authorized Staff”).
Should there be an emergency, a City contact, as identified above, will notify the Division promptly to
coordinate a secure replacement location.
Access to the Facility will be granted to Elections staff during regular business hours, at a minimum of
every 72 hours, to retrieve ballots from the Drop Box, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. On Election
Day, the Drop Box will be locked at 8 PM. Signage for the Drop Box will be available and displayed if
requested by the Division. Where the Drop Box is unlocked during the Voting Period, the Division will
ensure that ballots are collected frequently to prevent the Drop Box from becoming full. The City shall
not be responsible in any way for the collection of ballots.
The City and the Division agree that the Drop Box shall be maintained and repaired, as necessary, by
the Division at its sole cost and expense.
Following the end of the voting period, the Division will coordinate removal of the Drop Box from the
Facility. The City shall be responsible for the costs relating to removal of the Drop Box from the Facility.
I, THE UNDERSIGNED, ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE AUTHORITY TO ACT ON BEHALF OF
THE FACILITY. I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE FOREGOING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AND, BY SIGNING BELOW, AGREE THAT THE FACILITY WILL COMPLY WITH THE
AGREEMENT.
___________________________________________ _ _______________________________
Signature Date
____________________________________________
Print Name
ATTY/AGR.2023.123/San Mateo County Office of Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder & Elections (County Elections Drop Box Agreement - City Hall) (Page 2 of 2)
Melissa Stevenson Diaz
06/08/2023
