EXHIBIT "A" <br />SAN CARLOS OBLIGATIONS <br />San Carlos will retain one Fire Prevention Employee that Redwood City will supervise and <br />support. San Carlos will retain ownership of all capital equipment and maintenance thereof. The <br />billing and collection of fees for services rendered in San Carlos will be the responsibility of San <br />Carlos. <br />A. Fire Prevention Officer <br />San Carlos will employ one Fire Prevention Officer who will work under the supervision <br />of the Redwood City Fire Marshal. <br />The San Carlos Fire Prevention Officer, with the assistance of the Redwood City Fire <br />Prevention Bureau, will provide the following specific activities: <br />• Wildland urban interface inspections and enforcement <br />• State and local mandated fire and life safety inspections <br />• Plan Checking <br />• New construction inspections <br />• Builder consultation <br />• Coordination and management of Company Inspection Program <br />• Develop and provide public education services <br />• Fire origin and cause determination and investigation of fires within the City of San <br />Carlos <br />• Inspection, clearance, and issuance of fire permits <br />• Serve as a staff member within the San Carlos Emergency Operations Center <br />during EOC activations and training exercises <br />B. Fee Collection <br />San Carlos will remain responsible for the actual billing and collection of fire prevention, <br />code enforcement, inspection cost recovery, as well as report fees. Redwood City administrative <br />staff will maintain and electronically forward the necessary information to the San Carlos Finance <br />Department for the billing and collection of said revenue within sixty (60) days after the end of each <br />month. San Carlos will retain all associated fees. <br />C. Facilities <br />1. Fire Stations <br />San Carlos shall retain ownership of, and provide for use by Redwood City, the following: <br />a. Fire Station 13 and associated fixtures* (525 Laurel Ave., San Carlos, CA) <br />b.
