Page 6 of 7 <br />EXHIBIT A <br />Project Description <br />This document is the Project Description contemplated by the Memorandum of <br />Understanding, dated July 11, 2023 between Redwood City Together (the “Collaborator”) and <br />Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County (“us” or “LASSMC”). <br />I. Basic Project Data: <br />Project Purpose: The purpose of LIBRE is to inform low-income San Mateo <br />County immigrant families and individuals about safety net <br />services that they can legally obtain; dispel misunderstandings <br />about the impact of receiving benefits on their immigration <br />status; provide legal services to ensure that benefits are obtained; <br />and increase the community’s capacity to help immigrants access <br />safety net benefits. In 2023-24, LIBRE will promote health and <br />nutrition access, actively improve community messaging to <br />encourage community members to access benefits and work with <br />government agencies and community groups to inform <br />immigrants about the new “public charge” rules. <br />This MOU does not replace any existing MOU. <br />Project Start Date: March 1, 2023 <br />Project End Date: February 29, 2024 <br />Primary Contact at <br />LASSMC: <br />M. Stacey Hawver <br />Primary Contact at the <br />Collaborator: <br />Rafael Avendano <br />Funder: Grove Foundation <br />Maximum Disbursement: $4,000 <br />II.LASSMC’s Project Responsibilities: <br />LASSMC will serve as fiscal agent for this project, which includes writing and submitting <br />proposals, writing the MOUs for this project, completing all the financial duties for the project, <br />developing and maintaining relationships with funders, collecting project data, completing client <br />follow-up, and writing and submitting contract reports. LASSMC will pay Collaborator $4,000. <br />($4k for Steering Committee role). <br />LASSMC will also: <br />1. Provide training for Collaborator needed to provide the outreach activities, provide the <br />LIBRE materials, and attend the outreach events as needed and available. <br />2. Provide consultation for Collaborator staff about organizing outreach activities and <br />provide LIBRE materials. <br />3. Coordinate Steering Committee meetings. <br />4.
