EXIBHIT A SHINNYO-EN FOUNDATION GRANT TO REDWOOD CITY TOGETHER FOR “The 2023-2024 Shinnyo Community Impact Fellow” *Any changes or adjustments to goals and objectives require prior approval by Shinnyo- en Foundation. Please submit your request in writing to the Grants Manager. Grant Goal(s)*: The 2023-2024 Shinnyo Fellowship Program at Redwood City Together and Stanford’s Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities seeks to achieve the following goals: Goal 1: To provide a professional service opportunity to a recent Stanford post undergraduate student through the Shinnyo Fellowship Program at Redwood City Together and Stanford’s Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities to accomplish a goal mutually developed between the Fellow and the organizations. Related Objectives: 1. Recruit and select a Shinnyo Fellow whose passion, skills and interests align with and uphold the Shinnyo-en Foundation’s peace initiative “Infinite Paths to Peace.” 2. Train and onboard the identified Fellow, including close collaboration with the Fellow and the Mentor to identify a community partner organization that will help develop their skills. 3. Set professional expectations to position the Fellow for success and provide professional development and coaching. 4.Work on a specified research project at Stanford’s Gardner Center to enhance the Fellow’s experience and professional development while furthering the goals of the Gardner Center. Goal 2: Deepen the Fellow’s reflection on their professional learning and growth, and personal path to peace. Related Objectives: 1. Develop reflection opportunities through close collaboration with the Fellow and Mentor. 2.The Mentor will select guided readings related to service, reflective practice, and peace to further grow the Fellow’s wellbeing. The Mentor will also outline journaling expectations and strategies for self-reflection. 3. The Mentor will meet with the Fellow weekly, with added availability as needed to support the Fellow. 4. The mentor will recommend professional development opportunities including conferences, workshops, or affinity groups that match the Fellow’s interests. Goal 3: With the Fellow’s assistance, strengthen and promote a community of service through the Shinnyo Fellowship Program at Redwood City Together and Stanford’s Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities. Related Objectives: 1. The Mentor and the Executive Director of Redwood City Together and Deputy Director of Stanford’s Gardner Center will identify ways to promote the Shinnyo Fellowship during the academic year, to reinforce service opportunities and begin recruiting prospective Fellows. 2. Redwood City Together will organize a “reunion” activity or event for past Shinnyo Fellows to connect as a cohort.
