Sec. 9.48 SECTION 1514, APPENDIX CHAPTER 15 OF THE BUILDING <br />CODE AMENDED: Section 1514, Appendix Chapter 15 of the Building Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1514. General. All reroofing shall conform to the applicable provisions <br /> of Chapter 15 of the Building Code. All materials applied as roof-covering for <br /> reroofing shall have a fire retardant rating of Class A or B in accordance with <br /> U.B.C. Standard 15-2. <br /> <br /> EXCEPTION: Existing roof with a classification less than B may be reroofed with <br /> similar material provided that the reroofed area does not exceed twenty five (25) <br /> percent of the total roof area in any one-year period. <br /> <br /> Roofing materials and methods of application shall comply with the U.B.C. <br /> Standards and shall follow manufacturer's installation requirements when <br /> approved by the Building Official. <br /> <br /> Secs. 9.49 - 9.59. RESERVED. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.60 SECTION 1612.2.1 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: The <br />following Section 1612.2.1 of the Building Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1612.2.1 Basic Load Combinations. Where Load and Resistance Factor <br /> Design (Strength Design) is used, structures and all portions thereof shall resist <br /> the most critical effects from the following combinations of factored loads: <br /> <br /> 1.4D (12-1) <br /> 1.2D + 1.6L + 0.5 (Lr or S) (12-2) <br /> 1.2D + 1.6 (Lr or S) + (fl L or 0.8 W) (12-3) <br /> 1.2D + 1.3W+ (fl L + 0.5 (Lr or S) (12-4) <br /> 1.2D + 1.0E+ (fl L + f2 S) (12-§) <br /> 0.9D + (1.0pEh or 1.3 W) (12-6) <br /> <br /> WHERE: <br /> fl = 1.0 for floors in places of public assembly, for live loads in excess of 100 psf <br /> (4.9 kN/m2), and for garage live load. <br /> = 0.5 for other live loads. <br /> f2 = 0.7 for roof configurations (such as saw tooth) that do not shed snow offthe <br /> structure. <br /> = 0.2 for other roof configurations. <br /> <br /> EXCEPTIONS: <br /> 1. Factored load combinations for concrete per Section 1909.2 where load <br /> combinations do not include seismic forces. <br /> <br /> 2.
