<br />6.2C <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />installation to meet the demands of the 2010 irrigation season. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br /> <br />incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />2. Pursuant to Redwood City Code Section 2.76, the requirements of Article VII, <br /> <br />PURCHASING, of Chapter 2 of the Redwood City Code relating to competitive bidding are <br /> <br />suspended for this purchase. <br /> <br />3. Strict compliance with Article II, Chapter 2 of the Redwood City code would not <br /> <br />serve the public interest because for the reasons set forth in the recitals above, it is more <br /> <br />efficient and economical to acquire compatible pump equipment that are available from a single <br /> <br />source only, Flowserve. <br /> <br />4. The sole source purchase of five main pumps and motors from Flowserve for an <br /> <br />amount not to exceed $400,000 is approved. <br /> <br />5. The sole source purchase agreement for the purchase of five main pumps and <br /> <br />motors from Flowserve, to be negotiated and completed prior to the advertisement of the public <br /> <br />works project to install the five pumps, shall be assigned to the successful bidder on said public <br /> <br />works project. <br /> <br />6.
