EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE <br />Consultant will provide the following services: <br />1. Placement of three beehives on the roof of the Downtown Redwood City Public <br />Library. <br />2. Management of the three beehives, swarm prevention, assessment of health of <br />the bees and treatment as needed, and regular inspections at a minimum of every <br />six weeks, with inspections as frequently as every two weeks as needed <br />depending on Consultant's assessment of environmental conditions, seasonal <br />factors, honey production rate, or bee health. City may request inspections more <br />frequently than the minimum interval if concerns are identified. <br />3. Consultant shall retain ownership of the hives, including any components <br />necessary for housing the hives and any equipment attached to or inside of the <br />housing or the hives. <br />4. Honey harvests as needed where honey will be removed from the hives, and <br />processed and bottled off site. Library shall receive 100% of the honey harvested <br />from the hives. <br />5. Two free classes per year are held at the Library to provide education for members <br />of the public about scientific, agricultural, historical, environmental, and/or cultural <br />information regarding honey bees and/or beekeeping. Additional classes may be <br />provided according to the fee schedule below. <br />6. Ongoing maintenance of an educational installation related to honeybees in The <br />Library. Library shall retain ownership of all components of the educational <br />installation. <br />Fee Schedule: <br />• Installation of hives and any associated housing or equipment on Downtown <br />Library roof: $160 per hive per year <br />• Annual management charge for all services described in #2 above: $2210 for the <br />first hive, and $500 per additional hive <br />• Honey bottling including jars, labels, and processing costs: $6 per six -ounce jar <br />• Classes instructed by Consultant: First two per year are free, with additional <br />classes beginning at $100 for virtual visits and $200 for in-person visits, and <br />additional charges of $15 per 30 participants for honey sampling and $.50 per stick <br />for honey sticks.
