<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Scope of Work to be completed bv term of contract <br /> <br />Strengthen collaboration among environmental and youth serving organizations, <br />and schools, to deliver environmentally focused after school programs at <br />Kennedy Middle and Sequoia and Redwood High Schools. <br /> <br />. Together with Sequoia High School assess and identify the best opportunities to <br />strengthen the role of the school's garden and to develop a garden based educational <br />program that is both closely integrated with the school and engaging to high school age <br />youth <br />. Develop the capacity at Hidden Villa to train and integrate Hidden Villa's residential <br />interns to be able to teach within the existing school based programs within the <br />Redwood City community <br />. Build relationships with environmental and youth serving organizations and identify <br />mutually beneficial opportunities for collaboration <br />. Participate in the Youth Development Community of Practice professional development <br />project. As a result of this participation Hidden Villa will identify opportunities to <br />continually strengthen youth development practice within the organization <br />. Participate in quarterly meetings of the Redwood City Community Youth Development <br />Initiative as an opportunity to develop collaborative relationships with youth serving <br />organizations and schools <br /> <br />Development and delivery of replicable after school classes at Sequoia High <br />school that prepare youth for summer jobs and internships with an environmental <br />and/or green focus. <br /> <br />. Provide at least 2 garden based apprenticeships serving at least 30 students at Kennedy <br />Middle School. <br />. Provide at least 2 enrichment field trips for REAL program participants at Redwood High <br />School; a Farm/Food Day to apply their school garden experience into a larger setting <br />and to reflect on the work need to transform food from the field to a feast and a <br />Watershed Exploration Day to build upon their own watershed project at Redwood High <br />School. Furthermore, Hidden Villa will provide the expertise and knowledge to build up <br />the organic garden and native plant nursery at Redwood High School throughout the <br />school year as appropriate. <br />. Implement "YO!" (the youth-action-research and outdoor exploration program) serving <br />15-20 students (2-3 days) a week from January - May 2010. Work collaboratively with <br />partners to identify how to link and extend YO! research through Redwood City's Verde <br />summer youth ambassador program.. <br /> <br />Agreement over $10K 10 <br />City Attorney Approved Version 111803 <br />
