ATTY/ORD.0006/CC ORD AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 29 – EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 07-11-24 VR <br />Page 1 of 16 <br />CHAPTER 29 - STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND WORK IN OR USE OF CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />ARTICLE I. - CITY ENGINEERS STANDARDS <br />Sec. 29.1. - ADOPTION OF PUBLIC WORKS STANDARDS, SPECIFICATIONS AND REGULATIONS: <br />A. The City Engineer shall recommend for Council approval, standards, specifications and <br />regulations, regarding improvements and activities occurring within the right-of-way and <br />amendments thereto, which may be approved by resolution of the City Council. All public works <br />improvements and construction shall comply with these engineering standards, specifications and <br />regulations. <br />B. The following standards, details, specifications and/or policies are requirements for <br />improvements and activities occurring within the right-of-way and are in effect in the City of Redwood <br />City. <br />1.City of Redwood City Engineering Standards, Volumes 1, 2 and 3. That certain document <br />on file with the City Clerk, known and designated as "City of Redwood City Engineering <br />Standards, Volumes 1, 2 and 3, as may be amended from time to time pursuant to subsection <br />A herein above." A copy of these standards shall be available for review by members of the <br />public in the office of the City Clerk and also on the City's website. <br />2.Standard Plans and Specifications, California Department of Transportation, latest edition. <br />That certain document on file with the City Engineer, known and designated as the California <br />Department of Transportation Standard Plans and Specifications, latest edition, is hereby <br />adopted by reference and made a part hereof, provided, however, in the event there is any <br />conflict between the City of Redwood City Engineering Standards and the California <br />Department of Transportation Standard Plans and Specifications, those of the City of <br />Redwood City Engineering Standards shall control. <br /> <br />ARTICLE II. - ENCROACHMENT PERMITS <br />Sec. 29.2. - DEFINITIONS: <br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this Chapter, shall have the meanings <br />ascribed to them in this Section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning, <br />another division of this Chapter provides a different meaning, or an existing license/franchise or use <br />agreement has specific definitions approved as part of its terms: <br />CITY PROPERTY: Any public place of any type whatsoever and any property owned, maintained or <br />controlled by the City, now or hereafter existing as such within the City, including the surface of and <br />the space above and below such property. <br />DEPARTMENT: The Engineering Community Development and Transportation Department. <br />DIRECTOR: The Director or Director's designee of the Engineering and Transportation Department.
