From:Marty Putnam
To:publiccomment
Cc:Amy Buckmaster
Subject:Comments agenda item 7A
Date:Monday, July 22, 2024 12:13:11 PM
You don't often get email from marty@putnamlexus.com. Learn why this is important
I’d like to thank the staff and council for involving the auto dealers in determining the best
way to deal with the city budget shortfall and yet remain committed to the success of the
business community.
The proposed solution of increasing the employee headcount fee seems to be in the right
direction. For the auto dealers, we fall into the retail category and fees would increase
appropriately 115% from $37 to $80 per employee.
While this is a huge increase, it clearly demonstrates our support of the city.
Where we find problems is with the upper limit of $500,000.00 of the professional services
sector. And the $250 per employee too high
You don’t want to drive those businesses away. In fact, those employees help keep our
downtown vibrant. We all need those business to be successful and thrive.
Thank you for your service
Marty Putnam
Putnam Lexus
