REV: 06-06-24 VR EXHIBIT “A” SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE The city is proposing to repair a section of the existing levee located approximately 350 feet north of Bridge Parkway, south of Belmont Slough near the Redwood LIFE campus in Redwood City, California (Exhibit 1). A roughly 50-foot-long section of the existing levee experienced erosion and a breach was created through the levee. This levee is a part of the San Fracisco Bay Trail system, and the breach has suspended the use of a portion of the trail, requiring a detour. The distressed location coincides with a formerly plugged corrugated metal pipe culvert. The plan is to remove the culvert and restore the area of distress to its original configuration. The city requires geotechnical support during the planning and construction of the repair. SCOPE OF SERVICES Provide as-needed geotechnical engineering support services, including: •Attend virtual and site meetings to discuss repair solutions with the city and the city’s selected contractor. •Prepare estimated geotechnical parameters related to the repair solutions, including, but not limited to, earthwork recommendations, minimum excavation slope angle, subgrade stabilization, compaction requirements, and estimates of post-construction settlement. •Review submittals and RFIs as needed. •Perform construction compaction testing and observation. •Prepare a letter summarizing our recommendations and observed condition of repair at the end of earthwork operations. •Additional services requested by the city as necessary to support the emergency nature of the repair work. This task requires prior City approval in writing before any charges can be made. No payments will be made without prior City authorization.
