Any remaining items and open work shall be thoroughly fenced off to allow safe <br />access around the site by vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic. <br />C. Permittee or contractor shall coordinate with property owner/property management for all work in <br />easements and on private property. <br />D. Permittee or contractor shall obtain permits from San Mateo County Environmental Health for all <br />monitoring well or subsurface exploration work. <br />E. Permittee shall comply with Chapter 27A, Stormwater Management and Discharge Control Program, of <br />the Municipal Code. Please pay special attention to Section 27A.8 and 27A.9, where City Inspector <br />may require changes to the BMPs implemented based on site conditions. <br />F. No pavement cuts shall be allowed on [Street Name] due to this street having received a pavement <br />overlay within 5 years except as outlined in Chapter 29, Section 29.13 of the Municipal Code. If <br />pavement cuts occur on said street a Pavement Damage Restoration Fee shall be paid or in-kind <br />pavement reconstruction of the street shall occur prior to project closeout. <br />G. Contractor shall mark the approved horizontal alignment before beginning boring operations. <br />Contractor shall mark the progress and depth of the bore at 20' intervals by applying a paint dot to the <br />ground in the same color scheme as used for Underground Service Alert. Depth shall be marked to the <br />nearest 1/10 of a foot (0.1’). <br />H. The alignment of piping/conduit to be installed through trenchless methods shown on the approved <br />plans shall be adjusted, at the City Inspector/Engineer’s direction, based on the field conditions <br />discovered after Underground Service Alert (USA) markings and potholing of all utilities. <br />I. All utility crossings along the proposed alignment of the trenchless installation shall be potholed and <br />exposed to verify depth prior to commencing the boring operation. Potholes shall remain open until the <br />bore has passed the exposed utility to verify that no damage has occurred. <br />J. The installation of piping through trenchless methods shall require a CCTV inspection of any gravity <br />mains and laterals within 5’ of the alignment both prior to starting and after completion of construction. <br />The CCTV videos and reports shall be provided to encroachment@redwoodcity.org prior to permit <br />closeout. <br />K. Undermining of existing curb and gutter is not permitted. Any trenching/excavation work that crosses <br />curb and gutter shall replace the segment of curb and gutter (mechanical joint to mechanical joint) that <br />is crossed. <br />L. All existing cabinets, splice boxes, concrete pads, and/or foundation for all facilities/appurtenances to <br />be abandoned shall be completely removed. Standard sidewalk, curb, gutter, asphalt paving, and/or <br />landscaping shall be installed to match existing surrounding conditions. <br />M. Permittee shall have approved and pay for the use of the removal of any meter parking to include the <br />number of metered parking spaces needed for the number of days each plus a one-time $30.00 <br />application fee. <br />N. Contractor shall notify nearby residents, HOA's, businesses and property owners one week in advance <br />of work. <br />O. For work affecting and located in downtown Redwood City, a minimum of one week in advance of work <br />permittee shall contact James O’Connell, Senior Civil Engineer, at joconnell@redwoodcity.org for City <br />notification purposes to the downtown community. <br />P. Contractor shall notify the Redwood City Police Department at (650)780-7100 and the Redwood City <br />Fire Department at (650)780-7400 at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of any proposed temporary <br />street closure as shown on approved traffic control plans. <br />Q. Permittee or contractor must contact Underground Service Alert, USA, at (800) 642-2444 at least 48 <br />hours in advance of any excavation. <br />R. Contractor shall post No Parking signs at least 48 hours prior to the use of spaces. <br />S. Five business days before work, contractor shall notify City Inspector: Carlos Varela at (650) 780-7369 <br />or email him at cvarela@redwoodcity.org to schedule a pre-construction meeting. <br />T. Work installed without notification and pre-construction meeting may be rejected. <br />U. Working hours are limited to M-F 7:30 AM to 4 PM, excluding Redwood City observed holidays. <br />V. Permittee shall comply with all applicable City standard details available at the City’s website <br />(www.redwoodcity.org) including but not limited to the following: all concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, <br />and driveway restoration works shall follow City standard details C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, and C-5; and, all <br />trenching and backfilling shall follow City Standard detail UT-1 or UT-2. <br />W.
