REV: 07-03-24 VR
EXHIBIT “A”
SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE
The City is proposing to do earthwork in an open space south of the rear yards of 3709
and 3711 Brandy Rock Way (Exhibit 1). The proposed earthwork will include a 10 feet by
10 feet in length and 6 to 9 feet in depth excavation. The City would like to evaluate if this
project will affect the groundwater condition that would impact the Fountain Thistle
population unique to an area to the southeast down slope by the creek edge.
SCOPE OF SERVICES

To better understand if the proposed excavation activity will affect the flow or groundwater
in the area, Consultant will perform a geological exploration and field mapping program
within the project area.
Consultant will excavate up to four test pits (Exhibit 1). They will log the subsurface soil
and rock and attain samples for laboratory testing. They will retain the services of an
excavation subcontractor to excavate the test pits. Test pits will be excavated to depths
of up to 10 feet below existing grade. Track-mounted equipment will be required due to
the sloping conditions at the site. The actual depths may be deeper or shallower based
upon actual conditions encountered in the field during exploration. The test pits will be
loosely backfilled and tamped by the bucket. Consultant will not restore the landscape to
its original condition. Consultant’s geologist will observe the field operations and log the
subsurface conditions encountered. Soil and bedrock samples will be taken at frequent
intervals for visual classification and limited laboratory testing. Consultant’s geologist will
perform geologic mapping at the site based on rock outcrops, if any, and soil classification
within the hatched area, as shown in Exhibit 1.
Consultant will provide appropriate notification to Underground Service Alert prior to
performing the exploration to locate public utilities in potential conflict with the proposed
subsurface explorations.
ATTY/AGR.2024.066/ENGEO (Stulsaft Hydrogeology Study) (Page 11 of 13)
