ATTY/RESO.0141/PC RESO AMENDING PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE CHANGES <br />REV: 12-03-2020 PR <br />Page 1 of 18 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20-16 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AMEND <br />ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE 2 (DEFINITIONS), ARTICLE 6 (R-2 <br />(RESIDENTIAL—DUPLEX) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 8 (R-3 (MULTI- <br />FAMILY—LOW DENSITY) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 10 (R-5 (MULTI- <br />FAMILY—HIGH DENSITY) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 11 (PO <br />(PROFESSIONAL OFFICE) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 12 (CO <br />(COMMERCIAL OFFICE) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 14 (CB (CENTRAL <br />BUSINESS) DISTRICT), ARTICLE 15 (CG (GENERAL COMMERCIAL) <br />DISTRICT), ARTICLE 25 (COMBINING DISTRICTS), ARTICLE 31 <br />(SPECIAL USES – SHORT-TERM RENTALS), ARTICLE 32 <br />(SUPPLEMENTARY PROVISIONS), ARTICLE 41 (COMMON <br />PROCEDURES), ARTICLE 53 (MIXED-USE CORRIDOR ZONING <br />DISTRICT), ARTICLE 54 (MUN (MIXED-USE NEIGHBORHOOD) <br />DISTRICT), AND ARTICLE 56 (REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION) <br />REGARDING PERMIT EXPIRATION AND APPLICABILITY, MINOR <br />REVISIONS TO HOUSING-RELATED PROVISIONS, ALLOWING <br />ACCESSORY OUTDOOR USES AND OTHER MINOR AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City is <br />empowered to recommend amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. Modifications to the <br />various Articles listed herein would further the purposes of the Zoning Ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 1, 2020, the Planning Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing, in accordance with all applicable requirements of the Redwood <br />City Zoning Ordinance, to consider amendments to Zoning Ordinance Articles 2, 6, 8, <br />10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 25, 31, 32, 41, 53, 54, and 56 (collectively, the “Zoning Ordinance <br />Amendments”). <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby <br />incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />Section 2. The Planning Commission hereby finds that the proposed Zoning <br />Ordinance Amendments are in the public interest and consistent with the Redwood City <br />General Plan. <br /> <br />Section 3. The proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments have been reviewed <br />with respect to applicability of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") and <br />the State CEQA Guidelines (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Sections 15000 <br />et seq.). The Zoning Ordinance Amendments have been evaluated and found to not <br />have an impact on the environment under CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3) as it
