General Plan Amendment. <br />a. Findings. The Planning Commission finds that the General Plan <br />Amendment is consistent with and conforms to the goals and policies of the <br />General Plan and will not create conditions that would be detrimental to the public <br />health, safety and general welfare. The large size and location of the site is well <br />suited for campus development and its adjacency to Highway 101, Old Seaport <br />Boulevard, and Blomquist Street make the site suitable for a larger campus <br />development with a greater FAR and taller buildings that would be permitted under <br />the proposed General Plan. CP District allows for large-scale and complexes and <br />campuses that involve combinations of traditional office activities, manufacturing <br />and research and development uses. <br />b. Recommendation. The Planning Commission recommends that the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City adopt the General Plan Amendment in <br />substantially the form set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated by <br />reference. <br /> <br />4. Zoning Map Amendment. <br /> <br />a. Findings. The Planning Commission hereby finds that the Zoning Map <br />Amendment to Article 60 (Zoning District Boundaries- Maps) to amend the zoning <br />from the (as described in Exhibit A) is consistent with the goals of the General <br />Plan, the public interest, the existing zoning of the properties in the immediate <br />vicinity, and the purpose of amendments to increase the quality of the provisions <br />of the Zoning Ordinance in guiding and regulating the future development, growth, <br />and evolution of Redwood City. The proposed CP zoning allows for the <br />development of a more aesthetically pleasing campus that serves as a transition <br />to the non-industrial uses to the west and northwest of the site and is consistent <br />with the General Plan, as recommended to be amended. <br /> <br />b. Recommendation. The Planning Commission hereby recommends that <br />the City Council adopt the proposed ordinance to Article 60 approving the Zoning <br />Map Amendment, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit B. <br />5.
