The package of bills reflects almost ten <br />months of negotiations between legislators and stakeholders. The package is financed through <br />ari $11.4 billion bond that will be placed on the November 2010 ballot. An initial summary of the <br />package's key provisions and details about the bond have been posted on the League's Web site <br />at www.cacities.ora/resource files/28402.Water Leaislation-FINAL.rtf <br /> <br />.................................... <br /> <br />RESULTS GENERALLY POSITIVE FOR LOCAL <br />REVENUE MEASURES DECIDED TUESDAY <br /> <br />Elections were held across California on Tuesday, Nov. 3. deciding the fate of more than 100 <br />local measures including 57 concerning taxes, fees or bonds for cities, counties, special districts <br />and schools. There were five local bond measures, including three for schools, seeking approval <br />of a total of $214 million to finance capital facility construction and repair. There were also 11 <br />school parcel tax measures requiring two-thirds voter approval. Among the non-school local fiscal <br />measures, 42 concerned cities and one concerned a special district. For more, see Page 2. <br /> <br />.................................... <br /> <br />FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION REAUTHORIZATION STILL PENDING <br />SAFETEA-LU Extended to Dec. 18 <br /> <br />The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users <br />(SAFETEA-LU), a six-year federal transportation program that expired on Sept. 30, has been <br />extended for a second time. The extension ensures that current levels of funding will continue <br />until Dec. 18. For more, see Page 2. <br />
