Page 3 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />Based on the combination of available discounts, per-item and per-title cataloging and processing charges, <br />and ability of each vendor to meet specifications for materials processing and ordering systems, Midwest <br />Tape LLC was identified as the most cost-effective and most responsive consultant from which to purchase <br />audiovisual materials as well as cataloging and processing services for those materials. <br />Based on the collection size, flexibility in usage type (both simultaneous use and one copy-one user <br />models), the Library has selected Midwest Tape LLC to provide access to the web-based platform called <br />“hoopla” for electronic materials. <br />Additionally, the Library intends to enter into a separate contract with OverDrive that provides a web- <br />based service called “Libby” for eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines and a web-based service called <br />“Kanopy” for streaming movies and staff will return to the City Council with recommendations. <br />EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT <br />Equity and/or inclusion was considered in development or implementation of item through the <br />following: <br />Engagement with relevant Redwood City communities through public meetings, surveys, or other <br />means, with a focus on communities traditionally least likely to be heard in civic processes <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for Library audiovisual and electronic materials are appropriated annually and are budgeted as part <br />of the Adopted Budget. The agreement does not commit to any specific level of annual expenditures. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to rebid this project. <br />6.O. - Page 3 of 18 <br />574
