Sigala of Sigala and Stoddard, LLP <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve rejection of subject claims. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />Resolution Nos. 15081 and 15624 require City Council approval for the denial, allowance, allowance in <br />part, settlement, or compromise of a general liability claim, if it exceeds $50,000. The amount claimed by <br />the claimants exceeds that limit and therefore rejection must be approved by the City Council. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Mark S. Sigala of Sigala and Stoddard, LLP, representing Ms. Aurelia Gomez and Ms. Leonor Gomez, alleges <br />that on August 4, 2023, Leonor Gomez sustained injuries while on a Samtrans Paratranist Bus that rode <br />over a speed bump on Hopkins Ave, Redwood City. At this time, staff recommends that the claims be <br />rejected. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no funding required for the rejection of claims. <br />6.A. - Page 1 of 2 <br />7
