From:Erika Laguna
To:publiccomment
Subject:Comment for Agenda Item 8.A of the September 9th City Council Meeting
Date:Friday, September 6, 2024 12:55:33 PM
You don't often get email from erika@streetsteam.org. Learn why this is important
Hello,
Below is my comment for consideration for the City Council Meeting on Monday.
"Thank you for considering my input on agenda item 8A and for your ongoing support of
service providers assisting the unhoused population with resources and assistance. My name is
Erika Laguna, Director of Program Operations for Downtown Streets Team. We are grateful
for the opportunity to serve the unhoused community in Redwood City for the past four and a
half years.
One of the main reasons we've succeeded in helping individuals on their path to self-
sufficiency is due to the collaboration led by Homeless Services Manager Teri Chin. In the 16
communities we serve, those with strong provider collaborations have shown the most
success. Working together allows us to create a support system that helps individuals sustain
their journey toward self-sufficiency and we look forward to continuing our work alongside
our partners as we serve the unhoused population, thank you.”
Thank you!
Erika Laguna
Director of Program Operations
Downtown Streets Team
1671 The Alameda #301
San Jose CA 95126
Cell Phone : 408-502-0120
