From:Betty Matsumoto-Schuch
To:publiccomment
Subject:6.J.
Date:Monday, September 9, 2024 9:35:06 AM
You don't often get email from puffins4b@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
August 26, 2024
To: Redwood City Council
From: Cliff & Betty Schuch 327 Hudson Street Redwood City, CA 94062
email: puffins4b@gmail.com
Dear City Council,
Our house is 94 years old with a detached garage in the back.
There are many older homes just like ours in Redwood City that sit on a very narrow foot printed lot where placing
an AC compressor unit along the narrow side of that lot would be the most practical, less costly, and least obtrusive
placement. This can only be achieved with an approximate 2 foot setback.
That being said, I respectfully ask that the City Council seriously consider moderating their proposed 3 foot setback
on AC compressors for these older homes.
A hardline restrictive 3 foot setback could impede many home owner’s ability to financially and practically switch
to an all electric heat pump/AC unit.
Ultimately homeowners like ourselves are looking to the future and wish to support and adhere to the City of
Redwood City’s push to go all electric.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
