6. Safety will be a problem. Starting with building the project itself as there is no way it can be built
without impacting and probably closing the sidewalk and parts of the street, most likely blocking
what are supposed to be new bike lanes.
a. Students from Woodside High, Kennedy and Henry Ford schools walk down that side of
the road on a regular basis.
7. After the project is built there is no accommodation for moving vans or U-hauls, delivery
vehicles, and the like. Even if they could use the garage most would not be able to turn around
in the proposed space. Where will they go? Woodside Road will have NO PARKING.

a. There is a planned cut out. It is called a loading zone on both old and new plans and
those I talked to indicated it would be used for deliveries and dropping off residents. At
the planning meeting when questioned the architects changed that, stating it would only
be for trash pickup.
b. As shown in the proposed loading zone drawing it infringes on the bike lane. This will be
worse than parked cars that tend to stay for hours at a time. Many of the accidents that
occur on Woodside Road have been because of cars not really being able to see what’s
coming when they pull into traffic from parallel parking spaces.
c. Any project on this site needs to have an ungated driveway for deliveries and to pick up
and drop off tenants. It should also have a least a few ungated short term parking
spaces for visitors.
Eden’s response to comments about tenants needing cars was if they don’t win the lottery for a space
they don’t have to live there.
I ask why this project did not remain at 1900 Broadway where there is transportation and public open
space and over 500 parking spaces that instead are going to be used to overburden Woodside Road with
incoming traffic.
There will be a high impact on the neighboring businesses, many of them minority owned. They are very
concerned about parking in their already impacted small lots.
