Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: October 14, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement for Services with OverDrive, Inc. for electronic materials access <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a three-year Agreement for Services with <br />OverDrive, Inc. for electronic materials access (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics and streaming movies, <br />music, television) for a an amount of $150,000 from September 2024 to September 2027, and authorize <br />the City Manager to extend the agreement for two additional two-year terms in an amount not to exceed <br />$100,000 per extension, through September 2031, for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $350,000. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Equity <br />BACKGROUND <br />Redwood City Public Library provides access to digital materials such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines <br />and streaming TV and movies. The library issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a pool of vendors to <br />provide physical and digital audiovisual materials, collection development services, and library materials <br />processing. Some vendors specialize in providing different types of materials and associated services so <br />staff structured the RFP so that a vendor could propose to provide one or more major category of library <br />materials such as physical or digital audiovisual materials, as well as cataloging and processing for the <br />physical audiovisual materials. <br />6.E. - Page 1 of 20 <br />155
