Kanopy provides <br />access to Kanopy Kids at a flat rate of $5 for unlimited access to all titles within Kanopy Kids—at no <br />additional cost to the Library. <br />Based on the collection size and flexibility in usage type (both simultaneous use, metered access, cost per <br />circulation and one copy-one user models), the Library has selected OverDrive, Inc. to provide the service <br />“Libby” for eBooks and eAudiobooks, and eMagazines and a web-based service called “Kanopy” for <br />streaming movies. This will provide Library users with a wider range of electronic materials access. <br />EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT <br />Equity and/or inclusion was considered in development or implementation of item through the <br />following: <br />Engagement with relevant Redwood City communities through public meetings, surveys, or other <br />means, with a focus on communities traditionally least likely to be heard in civic processes <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for Library electronic materials are appropriated annually and are budgeted as part of the Adopted <br />Budget. The agreement does not commit to any specific level of annual expenditures. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to rebid this project. <br />6.E. - Page 3 of 20 <br />157
