If a billboard company is interested in placing a billboard in Redwood City,
then the City could expect some amount of revenue increase to the General Fund. If the City Council
chooses to stop pursuit of digital billboards, there would be no further impact to staff time or the General
Fund.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not currently a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in
CEQA Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council can direct staff to bring back additional information before providing policy direction, or
direct staff to discontinue work on digital billboards.
8.A. - Page 10 of 12
192
