From:Catherine A. Delfs
To:publiccomment
Subject:RE: Sanctuary City proposal
Date:Monday, November 25, 2024 4:13:38 PM
You don't often get email from csdelfs@pacbell.net. Learn why this is important
For Redwood City Council, As 55 year Redwood City residents we are alarmed at the prospect of our
beloved, safe city possibly becoming a Sanctuary City! This is both a community safety and community
quality of life issue. Countless rising taxpayer costs are involved from police protection, business safety,
education , health and welfare costs, plus housing availability. These new residents will not be "carrying
their fair share of all these additional taxpayer expenses for years." Compassion is one thing, but this
self-inflicted carnage is not compassionate to long time city residents. No wonder California is loosing so
much of its population!
At the very least the citizens of Redwood City should be allowed to vote on this drastic change,
instead of just a few "do-gooder" politicians deciding the matter.
Thomas and Catherine Delfs
