<br />36 <br /> <br />10.2.7 In the event there are any costs not charged to the City due to delays by <br />the Group Health Plan Administrator and/or other administrative agencies <br />in calculating or reporting these costs, said costs shall be carried over and <br />charged as administrative costs to the following plan year and deducted <br />from the aforementioned monthly dollar caps accordingly. <br /> <br />10.2.8 Retiree Health Coverage for Employees who Receive an Industrial <br />Disability Retirement from CalPERS <br /> <br />Effective January 30, 2023, current employees hired on or before January <br />30, 2023 will contribute a cost share of one and eight tenths’ percent <br />(1.8%) of base salary to the City via payroll withholding toward the cost <br />of the IDR retiree health benefit described herein. <br /> <br />IDR Retiree Health Tier One: For an employee hired on or before <br />January 30, 2023 who is receiving a disability retirement due to a work <br />related illness or injury, shall receive paid medical benefits provided that <br />the following conditions are met: <br /> <br />A. The employee is not eligible for similar medical benefits through <br />other employment; and, <br /> <br />B. The employee is not eligible for similar benefits through a <br />spouse’s health plan. <br /> <br />Whenever the above eligibility criteria are met, the maximum retirement <br />stipend paid by the City shall be equal to the CalPERS Bay Area Kaiser <br />premium for family coverage. The City will pay the PEMHCA minimum <br />employer contribution to CalPERS and reimburse the retiree for the <br />remaining difference in premium amount. Employees who do not meet <br />the eligibility criteria listed above at the time of retirement, but later <br />become eligible (i.e., is no longer eligible for benefits through a spouse’s <br />plan or through other employment), may enroll in City-paid health <br />benefits under this provision at that time. An employee who was hired on <br />or before January 30, 2023 and who has a break in service of twenty-eight <br />(28) days or more, who is rehired by Redwood City as a Police Officer <br />(P700), or Police Officer-Advanced (Ten-Year) (P710), or Police Officer- <br />Advanced (Fifteen-Year) (PXXX711) after January 30, 2023 will no <br />longer be eligible for IDR Retiree Health Tier One, and shall instead be <br />eligible for IDR Retiree Health Tier Two in the event the employee is <br />granted an industrial disability retirement from Redwood City. <br /> <br />IDR Retiree Health Tier Two: For employees hired after January 30, <br />2023, an employee who is granted an industrial disability retirement due <br />to a work related illness or injury, shall receive paid medical benefits as <br />described applicable service retiree health benefit (Retiree Health Tier 2) <br />as described in Paragraph B of Section 10.2.5 of this MOU entitled <br />6.I. - Page 48 of 84 <br />278
