<br />38 <br /> <br />• During an employee’s initial hire probationary period with the City, <br />neither the employee nor the City will contribute to the employee’s <br />RHS Account. Upon successful completion of the initial hire <br />probationary period, the City will contribute a lump sum of forty <br />dollars ($40) per month for each month served in the employee’s <br />initial probationary period. <br />• Upon cessation of employment with the City, the City will cease <br />the forty dollars ($40) per month contributions to the individual’s <br />RHS Account. <br />• Employees will have no vested right in ongoing City contributions <br />to the RHS Account. <br /> <br />10.2.10.1 Public Safety Career Incentive <br /> <br />In addition to the above, for the sole purpose of attracting <br />qualified police officer candidates to work for the City, effective <br />January 31, 2023, Police Officers (P700) hired by the City after <br />January 30, 2023 are eligible to receive up to thirty-five <br />thousand dollars ($35,000) as a public safety hiring and career <br />incentive, paid into a RHS Account over a five-year period, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />• A lump sum incentive of five thousand dollars ($5,000) will <br />be paid the first pay period following successful completion, <br />as determined by the Police Chief or designee, of the <br />probationary period as a Redwood City Police Officer <br />(P700); <br /> <br />• A lump sum incentive of five thousand dollars ($5,000) will <br />be paid the first pay period following successful completion, <br />as determined by the Police Chief or designee, of two (2) full <br />years of service as a Redwood City Police Officer (P700); <br /> <br />• A lump sum incentive of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) will <br />be paid the first pay period following successful completion, <br />as determined by the Police Chief or designee, of three (3) <br />full years of service as a Redwood City Police Officer <br />(P700); <br /> <br />• A lump sum incentive of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) will <br />be paid the first pay period following successful completion, <br />as determined by the Police Chief or designee, of four (4) <br />full years of service as a Redwood City Police Officer <br />(P700); <br /> <br />6.I. - Page 50 of 84 <br />280
