Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />ANALYSIS <br />On December 5, 2024 the San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer Mark Church certified the results of <br />the election and provided the City with a copy of the Official Report of Election. The results report lists <br />the final vote totals for each of the candidates for City Council by District: <br />District 1 <br />Jeff Gee 4,570 Votes (100%) <br />District 3 <br />Lissette Espinoza-Garnica 1,385 Votes (49.73%) <br />Isabella Chu 1,400 Votes (50.27%) <br />District 4 <br />Elmer Martínez Saballos 1,924 Votes (100%) <br />District 7 <br />Marcella Padilla 3,181 Votes (54.07%) <br />Diana Reddy 2,702 Votes (45.93%) <br />Based on these results, the newly elected City Council Members are Jeff Gee – District 1, Isabella Chu - <br />District 3, Elmer Martínez Saballos – District 4, and Marcella Padilla - District 7. <br />The results report lists the final vote totals for the Redwood City ballot measure: <br />Measure BB – Modernize the City’s Business <br />License Tax <br />Passed with 26,988 Yes Votes (83.77%) <br />(5,228 No Votes – 16.23%) <br />The City Council is required to adopt a resolution (Attachment A) in accordance with California Elections <br />Code Section 10263, and the City Clerk is required to enter in the minutes a statement of the results. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The San Mateo County Elections Office will provide an invoice for services rendered for the consolidated <br />election pursuant to the Agreement between the City of Redwood City and the County Elections Office <br />approved on June 24, 2024. At the time, the County Elections Office estimated election costs between <br />$108,000-$217,200. The FY 2024-25 Adopted Budget included funding for the election in the City Clerk’s <br />Office budget. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, Section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />5.A. - Page 2 of 35 <br />5
