City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Dispatchers who are available to work part-time to fill-in as needed during staffing shortages, including
when incumbents are on a leave of absence. The City is competing for dispatcher talent with our labor
market and an increase to the salary range will allow the City to offer more competitive wages. Pursuant
to CalPERS rules and regulations, a retired CalPERS annuitant who is hired into a retired annuitant
dispatcher position can only be paid an hourly rate that falls within the regular salary schedule for the
position they are filling.
FISCAL IMPACT
There are currently 2.0 FTE Management Analyst positions budgeted in the City Manager’s Office. One
position is filled and the incumbent will be reclassified from a Management Analyst II to a Housing
Management Analyst II. With both classifications salary being set the same, there is no fiscal impact for
this reallocation. The vacant Management Analyst I/II position will be reclassified to a Housing
Management Analyst I/II and will be filled from a recruitment process. The vacant Management Analyst
I/II position is currently budgeted in the fiscal year 2024-25 approved budget.
Funding for the proposed 3% COLA for Confidential employees is currently budgeted for in the fiscal year
2024-25 approved budget, therefore, there is no fiscal impact for fiscal year 2024-25.
For the increase in the maximum salary for the X151 Office Clerical Level II classification, current budgeting
will be monitored and if any budget appropriations are needed, staff will return to City Council to request
those appropriations as part of the FY 2024-25 year-end budget amendments.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
1. The City Council may choose not to approve a Housing Management Analyst classification and salary,
and/or may choose not to approve amending the authorized full-time equivalent employee table for
the City Manager’s Office in the Adopted FY 2024-25 budget.
2. The City Council may choose not to approve a salary increase for the X151 Office Clerical Level II
classification.
6.A. - Page 3 of 21
7
