REV: 11-27-24 LF Exhibit A – Services Redwood City Community Schools July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 Redwood City School District shall provide the following services: Community School Overview Redwood City School District has 8 full-service community schools, serving 4,318 pre-K-8th graders. The goal of the community school model is to address the barriers of learning by more efficiently coordinating efforts and resources to bolster students’ learning, strengthen families, and promote healthy communities. Community Schools directly align with San Mateo County’s 2025 shared vision around building a healthy, prosperous, and collaborative community. General Description of Services 1. Building family capacity in the school system, family stability, and at-home learning. a. Community School Coordinators work to support our students to achieve wellness in all domains of their development as individuals: social, emotional, physical, and intellectual through collaboration and integration: families, partner agencies, and school teams coming together to fulfill the students’ needs and support their growth. 2. Stronger alignment for impact across levels of intervention. a. Integrate the roles of the mental health counselors, community school coordinators, multi- Tier Systems of Support Coordinators (MTSS) to screen, align, and provide early interventions across Tier 1, Tier 2, & Tier 3 supports. b. The Mental Health Counseling Program at Redwood City School District consists of 10 Marriage and Family Therapists assigned to school sites and 1 Mental Health Liaison to oversee and supervise the program. The goal of the program is to provide Tier I, II, and III support to students on campus who are in need of early intervention and mental health services so that in collaboration with other contracted mental health providers on-site, all students who could benefit from mental health interventions have the ability to do so. 3.Supporting every child: improving individual outcomes and supporting at-risk youth. Community school coordinators in conjunction with the mental health counselor and the MTSS coordinator will connect with our most vulnerable students (Newcomer students/families) to intentionally outreach and implement specific strategies to support and develop school and community engagement. In addition, helps to support system navigation and resources, thus lessening their immigration grief.
