December 5, 2024 City of Redwood City Police Department 1301 Maple Street Redwood City, CA 94063 RE: Firearms Training Facility Agreement with the City of Redwood City Police Department To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for permitting the Palo Alto Police Department to use the City of Redwood City Firearms Training Facility (“Facility”) effective January 1 st, 2025, through December 31st, 2027. The City of Palo Alto has a self-insurance policy that provides coverage up to $1,000,000. This self-insurance is effective on a primary and non-contributory basis, as required by written contract. It also extends coverage to the City of Redwood City, protecting its officers, agents, employees, and volunteers against any liability or loss incurred from the use of the facility by the Palo Alto Police Department. The Authority of California Cities Excess Liability (ACCEL) provides Excess Liability insurance up to $1 million per occurrence, in addition to the City’s self-insured retention (S.I.R.). A certificate of insurance is enclosed for your records. The City of Palo Alto is also self-insured for Workers' Compensation, as authorized by the Director of Industrial Relations (Certificate #7102). This coverage applies to all City employees covered under the agreement. The Authority of California Cities Excess Liability (ACCEL) also provides excess workers' compensation and employer liability insurance. This coverage meets the limits required by the written contract. A certificate of insurance is enclosed for your records.
