<br />ATTY/RESO.0001/CC RESO RAMOTH IVERSON- INTERIM FIRE CHIEF <br />REV: 01-13-25 MI <br />Page 2 of 9 <br />WHEREAS, this Government Code section 21221(h) appointment shall only be <br />made once and therefore will end by March 19, 2025; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the entire employment agreement between Ramoth Iverson and the <br />City of Redwood City has been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />and is attached herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no matters, issues, terms or conditions related to this employment <br />and appointment have been or will be placed on a consent calendar; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the employment shall be limited to 960 hours per fiscal year for all <br />CalPERS employers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the compensation paid to retirees cannot be less than the minimum <br />nor exceed the maximum monthly base salary paid to other employees performing <br />comparable duties, divided by 173.33 to equal the hourly rate; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the maximum base salary for this position is $27,562.93 and the <br />hourly equivalent is $159.02, the minimum monthly base salary for this position is <br />$22,049.93 and the hourly equivalent is $127.21; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hourly rate paid to Ramoth Iverson will be $153.36; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramoth Iverson has not and will not receive any other benefit, <br />incentive, compensation in lieu of benefit or other form of compensation in addition to this <br />hourly pay rate. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated <br />by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby certifies the nature of <br />the employment of Ramoth Iverson as described herein and detailed in the attached <br />employment agreement and that this appointment is necessary to fill the critically needed <br />position of Fire Chief for the City of Redwood City by February 18, 2025, because the Fire <br />Chief is a key executive-level position responsible for managing operations of the City of <br />Redwood City Fire Department. <br /> <br />3.
