During the <br />session, individual councilmembers provided feedback on these topics. <br />Many councilmembers expressed support for the public health initiative to regulate smoking in public <br />areas but advised that any new regulations should be balanced and consider existing restrictions. Since <br />the September 23 study session, staff have been actively engaging with the community to better <br />understand the perspectives of residents, visitors, and business owners on smoking regulations in public <br />spaces, and researching recent changes to various state laws related to tobacco use. <br />8.A. - Page 1 of 37 <br />227
