Learn why this is important
Solid Waste Rates
City Council
c/o City Clerk
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94063
(650) 780-7220
council@redwoodcity.org

Subject: Declining the Proposed Solid Waste Rate Increase City of Redwood City, CA.

I have been a Redwood City, CA resident for 20 years and I am AGAINST your proposal to
increase solid waste (per letter dated 12/13/24).

Please be advised that rates for these services were just increased last year. It is absurd that
the City of Redwood City council is planning to increase rates every year.
Please note that city residents’ earnings are NOT keeping up with inflation to support
every rate increase the City of Redwood City Council is planning on passing.
The City of Redwood City Council “Carte Blanche model” on city residents does not work!

Example
This year City of Redwood City council passed an “administrative fee” as an addition to
the water well inspection fee. This is a bogus fee that charges for filing the paper work from
the field to the office (per the City of Redwood City Water Dept.)
This is truly highway robbery by the City of Redwood City council and an insult to every
resident that owns a water well. It is not justified.

Suggestion
Please challenge the cost from your service providers (e.g., Recology, ACI, etc. ) and ensure
their cost are justifiable and not just hype to increase their bottom lines.
Find funding from other sources to cover the proposed rate increases. City residents have
had enough rate increases.

Please confirm delivery of this note.

Thank you.
