During the <br />session, individual councilmembers provided feedback on these topics. <br />At the January 13, 2025, City Council meeting, staff presented proposed changes to Municipal Code <br />Chapter 15, to adopt new prohibitions on smoking in public places, expand and strengthen enforcement <br />and penalty provisions, and conform with state law. The new regulations included a proposal to ban <br />smoking in the Pedestrian Mall as well as within 20 feet of any entrance, exit, window, or other opening <br />into a restaurant or bar. The Ordinance delays enforcement of this ban as it applies to the three <br />businesses which are exempt from the City’s existing prohibition on the sale or distribution of flavored <br />6.J. - Page 1 of 28 <br />161
