CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SUMMARY OF COMPENSATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT <br />FOR THE CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEE GROUP <br /> <br />Page 10 of 34 <br />In addition, the following restrictions shall apply: <br />• Employee must have a minimum of eighty (80) hours of accrued vacation at <br />the time of election in order to be eligible. <br />• Employee must utilize a minimum of eighty (80) hours of vacation during the <br />calendar year in which leave is accrued. <br />• Employee must have at least eighty (80) hours of vacation leave remaining <br />after the cash-out is completed. In the event that the amount of vacation to <br />be cashed out would leave less than eighty (80) hours in the employee’s <br />remaining accrued leave bank, the cash-out amount will be reduced by the <br />amount necessary in order to retain the minimum eighty (80) hour bank. <br /> <br />The City will endeavor to make payment on the non-payroll Friday immediately <br />following the first payroll Friday in January; however, the payment will be made no <br />later than the first pay period in February and shall be paid using the salary in effect <br />the preceding December 31st. <br /> <br />Upon payment, accumulated vacation leave credits shall be reduced by the value of <br />the vacation leave used and compensated as provided in the above paragraph. <br /> <br />C. Recognized Holidays: <br />The following are the recognized holidays: <br /> <br />New Year's Day Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in <br />January) <br />Presidents’ Day (observed on the third Monday in February) <br />Memorial Day (observed on the last Monday in May) <br />Juneteenth (observed June 19) <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br />Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period following City Council approval of this Summary, <br />three (3) administrative holidays and such other days as may be proclaimed local <br />holidays by City Council.
