<br />REPORT <br /> <br />6.2A <br />age 1 <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />from the Ci CI'erk <br /> <br />November 30, 2009 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Results of the November 3, 2009 General Municipal Election consolidated with the <br />Municipal, School & Special District Election based on the County of San Mateo Chief <br />Elections Officer Certificate and Final Official Canvass <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Adopt a resolution reciting the facts of the General Municipal Election <br />consolidated with the Municipal, School & Special District Election held on <br />November 3,2009 and declaring the results and such other matters as provided <br />by law. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />This office has received the Certificate of the Chief Elections Officer of the County of <br />San Mateo, executed on November 20th 2009, with the election results. The final official <br />results by the Chief Elections Officer reports the following votes for each of the <br />candidates: Jeff Ira 5077 votes, Jeff Gee 4644, John Seybert 3724, Janet Borgens <br />2867 and Cherlene L. Wright 2542 votes. The newly elected City Council Members are: <br />Jeff Ira (incumbent), Jeff Gee and John Seybert. <br /> <br />Regarding measure X it received 4353 votes in favor and 2966 opposing resulting in its <br />passage. Measure Y received 3415 votes in favor and 4049 opposing votes resulting in <br />its non-passage. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1. Draft resolution, Exhibit "A" - Certificates of the Chief Elections Officer and Final <br />Official Canvass for City Council Election - Three Seats and Measures X and Y. <br />
